3 Things I Have Learnt from Delivering Online Darts Coaching

When I first started offering Online Darts Coaching, I was unsure how effective it would be compared to coaching in person.
Having received both face-to-face coaching and online coaching myself, I have always preferred being in the same room as the coach. It felt more personal, it was easier to ask questions, and I believed nothing could replace that experience.
However, after coaching players online over the past few years, I have been genuinely surprised by just how successful Online Darts Coaching has been.
The reason is simple. Success is not determined by whether the coach is standing beside you. It is determined by the quality of the coaching process, the communication between coach and player, and the consistency of the feedback.
Here are the three biggest lessons I have learnt from delivering Online Darts Coaching.
1. Online Darts Coaching Works When the Videos Are Recorded Properly
The quality of the coaching starts before the lesson even begins.
When players send clear, well recorded videos, I can analyse every stage of their throw with incredible detail. I can assess their stance, grip, arm path, release, follow through, timing, and overall technique in exactly the same way I would during a face to face session.
If the camera angle is poor or the footage is unclear, important details can easily be missed. That is why I always give players guidance on how to record their videos before we begin working together.
Good lighting, a stable camera, and the correct angle allow me to provide accurate feedback that leads to meaningful improvements.
High quality video is one of the biggest reasons why Online Darts Coaching has proven to be so effective.
2. Feedback After the Lesson Is Essential
One thing I quickly realised is that the coaching session itself is only part of the journey.
The biggest improvements happen after the lesson when players begin practising the changes we have discussed.
I encourage every player to send follow up videos, ask questions whenever they need to, and keep me updated with their progress. This allows me to make small adjustments before bad habits develop and gives players confidence that they are moving in the right direction.
This ongoing communication creates a coaching relationship rather than simply delivering a single lesson.
In many ways, this is one of the greatest strengths of Online Darts Coaching because players have continued support between sessions rather than waiting until the next lesson.
3. Every Player Needs a Different Approach
No two players learn in exactly the same way.
Some players like detailed technical explanations and enjoy understanding every movement of the throw. Others perform much better with simple cues and structured practice that allows the technique to develop naturally.
Delivering Online Darts Coaching has reinforced just how important it is to coach the individual rather than following a standard programme.
Every player arrives with different goals, different experiences, and different strengths. My role is to identify what each individual needs and build a coaching plan around them.
Because players can revisit lesson notes, review video feedback, and progress at their own pace, online coaching often provides an excellent learning environment.
Final Thoughts
Although I have always preferred face to face coaching as a player, delivering Online Darts Coaching has completely changed my perspective.
I have seen players make significant technical improvements, increase their consistency, and gain confidence without ever stepping into the same room as me.
When the videos are recorded properly, the feedback continues after the lesson, and the coaching is tailored to the individual, online coaching becomes a powerful tool for improving your game.
That is why I now have complete confidence in recommending Online Darts Coaching to players who want expert guidance wherever they are in the world.
