Hello
I’m Matt Tizzard, but most people know me as DartsMatt.

I’m a darts coach with a simple belief: every player can improve. Whether you’re picking up a set of darts for the first time, playing regularly in your local league, competing at county level or chasing your next breakthrough, there is always something we can work on.

My job is to help you understand what is holding your game back, why it is happening, and what we can do about it.

I provide both in-person coaching from my dedicated darts studio in Worcestershire and online coaching for players anywhere in the world. My coaching is built around the individual, not a one-size-fits-all system. Your throw, your goals, your experience and your challenges are unique, so your development plan should be too.

I am a SightRight qualified Darts Instructor, hold a Certificate in Sports Psychology and Youth. I also have a MSc in Quality & Process Management which is the bedrock to my philosophy to coaching.....
My Philosophy
Data-Led. Individual. Measurable.

One of the biggest influences on my coaching philosophy is the idea of marginal gains. Inspired by the principles made famous by British Cycling and Sir Dave Brailsford, I don't believe there is usually one magical change that suddenly transforms a player's game.

Instead, I look for the small improvements.

-
A slightly more consistent release
-
A better pre-throw routine
-
A stronger practice structure
-
A higher checkout percentage
-
A better response after a missed double
-
A more effective approach to pressure
-
Marginal Gains Beyond the Oche: Identify small improvements in your everyday life, from sleep, nutrition and hydration to movement, recovery and routines, that can have a positive impact on your energy, focus and consistency at the dartboard.
-
Better Lifestyle, Better Darts: Build sustainable habits away from the oche that support your physical and mental performance, helping you arrive at practice and competition feeling prepared, focused and ready to perform.

Individually, these changes might seem small. Put them together, repeat them consistently and measure the results, and they can transform your performance.

That's why my coaching is data-led. Statistics aren't there simply to tell us what your average is. They help us understand your game and identify where the biggest opportunities for improvement actually are.
I want you to know why we're working on something and, wherever possible, be able to see whether it's making a difference.

My coaching philosophy can be summed up in three words: Plan. Transform. Perform.
My Goal
Ultimately, I want to help more people enjoy darts and get more from their game.

That doesn't necessarily mean everyone needs to become a professional player.

For some people, success is hitting their first 180.

For others, it's winning their local league.

For someone else, it's finally breaking through a plateau they've been stuck at for years.

Your goal is your goal.

My job is to help you get there.

So whether you're looking for face-to-face coaching in Worcestershire, online coaching from anywhere in the world, help with the mental side of your game, throw analysis or simply some direction on what to work on next, I'd love to help.

Plan. Transform. Perform.

Let's make your next marginal gain count.
