Service Description

Unlock the mental side of your darts performance and build a research-driven pathway for improvement with this specialist Goal-Setting and Mental Game Coaching Session. Sports psychology shows that mental skills such as focus, confidence, emotional regulation, and structured goal-setting have a direct impact on precision, consistency, and decision-making. This session applies those proven methods to help you perform with clarity and composure under pressure. During your session, I will guide you through a focused, evidence-based framework: ✔ Personalised Goal Setting Using models such as SMARTER goal-setting and performance–process–outcome planning, I will help you create clear, measurable targets. Research demonstrates that structured goals improve motivation, reduce anxiety, and strengthen attention during competition. ✔ Identifying Mental Barriers We will uncover psychological factors that may limit your performance, such as performance anxiety, negative self-talk, overthinking, or inconsistency in confidence. This approach is informed by cognitive-behavioural and attentional-control research, helping you recognise and reshape unproductive patterns. ✔ Building a Mental Performance Routine Studies in precision sports show that consistent mental routines boost accuracy and stability. Together we will create a routine that may include: Pre-shot and pre-match routines Breathing and arousal-control strategies Focus cues and concentration techniques Resilience tools based on cognitive reframing These methods help regulate nerves, enhance focus, and support consistent execution. ✔ A Structured Improvement Plan You will leave with a clear mental-training plan informed by research on deliberate practice. This may include psychological drills, reflective tasks, confidence-building work, and weekly checkpoints to keep your progress on track. This session is ideal for players of any level who want to go beyond technique and develop the psychological edge that research shows separates good players from great ones. Want to find out more?
